From October’s issue of Harper’s Bazaar, Cecil Beaton on Marilyn Monroe: 

Of all the celebrities who posed for Beaton, Monroe was perhaps the one he loved the most, except for his first love, Greta Garbo. Their session for Bazaar’s June 1956 issue in Beaton’s suite at New York’s Ambassador Hotel resulted in a rare, revealing vision of the star and quickly became her favorite picture. With the film My Week With Marilyn coming out next month, Bazaar reprints Beaton’s iconic image and ode to Monroe.
